Dog Adopted on our Sunday Funday Brooklyn Tour!

One of my all time favorite places in Brooklyn is Artists & Fleas. Aside from all the amazing vendors they have, they have hosted some fun events and are very much part of the Williamsburg community.

In celebration of National Dog Day on August 27, Artists & Fleas hosted Found My Animal for a day of puppy love, raising awareness for fostering and adoption, and to find forever homes for some four-legged pals.

New Indoor Brooklyn Food Market!

For anyone who wanted to try Katz’s Deli food and potentially skip the nonstop insanity that is their Houston Street location, we’ve got your answer! DeKalb Market Hall!

Dekalb Market Hall showcases 40 vendors, that, according to their website, “reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the borough.” They also reflect the latest in food trends as represented by vendors that also participate at Smorgasburg, Bergen, Le District and other great food markets that can be found in NYC and Brooklyn…

Experience Brooklyn Like A Local

Last month we partnered with Localgrapher and shared our insight on how to “Experience Brooklyn Like A Local”.  Read on to discover our top 5 ways to explore Brooklyn!

Summertime at Brooklyn Bridge Park & DUMBO

According to the NY Harbor Parks website, the Brooklyn Heights Promenade will take your breath away. Made famous by cameo appearances in movies like Annie Hall and Moonstruck, it is one of the most romantic spots in New York City, and has been the destination for thousands of first dates, wedding proposals and anniversary celebrations. One-third of a mile long, it offers a vista of the Statue of Liberty, the Manhattan skyline and the majestic Brooklyn Bridge. Lined with flower beds, trees, benches and playgrounds, the promenade is a favorite destination for tourists, joggers, strollers, families and lovers.

It’s a great place to visit whether you’re local or visiting from out of town. If you’re staying in Manhattan, we recommend a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and then a few hours to enjoy the promenade. Plan your visit to finish up around sunset for incredible views (and photos!). The walk across the bridge takes about an hour, so plan accordingly….

Finally! Smorgasburg is back. Here’s what to eat at this Brooklyn Foodie Mecca!

We always know summer is around the corner when our beloved Smorgasburg is back in business. Located on the Williamsburg Brooklyn waterfront (the views of NYC are fabulous as is the food), this is one of our favorite Saturday activities. After our Flatiron Food Tour and Williamsburg Brooklyn Food Tour of course.

“Smorgasburg is the largest weekly open-air food market in America, attracting 20,000-30,000 people to Brooklyn each weekend to eat from 100 local vendors

Interview with a Local: Anna Ward, Artists & Fleas Market Manager

If you’re local, you have likely been to Artists and Fleas. If not, according to Founders Amy and Ronen, Artists & Fleas is, “Part community gathering spot, part hipster haven, Artists & Fleas has hosted thousands of artists and vendors since opening its doors. It’s a place where buyers find unique designs, artists and vintage collectors in an atmosphere that’s in the tradition of old world marketplaces with a firm foot in what is contemporary, original and hip.”

They first opened their doors in an empty warehouse in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and have since expanded to Chelsea Market in NYC, downtown Los Angeles as well as Venice, CA.

September 7, 2016 by Kristie Kellahan // In Brooklyn, they go hard. Take it from Jay-Z, you don’t want to miss out on BK. Five boroughs make up New York City, and Brooklyn is one of them. First-time visitors might think Manhattan is all there is, as it’s home to famous landmarks including Times Square, Central Park, Wall Street and the Empire State Building.

But skip Brooklyn and you’ll be missing out on the excitement of late-night live music, food markets, shops stuffed with vintage threads and some of the best pizza in the world. …
